Compare Two PDFs Side-by-Side
Upload two versions of a document to find changes instantly.
Why Compare PDF Documents Online?
In legal, academic, and corporate environments, tracking changes between document versions is vital. Whether you are reviewing a contract that has gone through multiple revisions or checking a final proof against a draft, manually reading two PDFs side-by-side is time-consuming and prone to human error.
Our PDF Comparison Tool provides an automated way to view the text of two documents simultaneously. By extracting the raw text data from both files, we allow you to scroll through both versions in a synced environment, making it much easier to identify added, removed, or altered clauses.
How to Use the PDF Difference Checker
Our tool is designed for simplicity and speed. Follow these steps to begin your comparison:
- Step 1: Select your "Original" document in the first upload box.
- Step 2: Select the "Revised" or "Modified" document in the second box.
- Step 3: Click the "Compare Now" button. The tool will use JavaScript to render and extract text from every page of both documents.
- Step 4: Review the text in the side-by-side panes. You can use your browser's search function (Ctrl+F) to find specific keywords across both documents.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my data secure?
Yes. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Unlike other online services, your PDF files are never uploaded to a server. The comparison happens locally on your machine, ensuring complete privacy for sensitive documents.
Can it compare images within the PDF?
This version focuses on text extraction. It is designed to help you find changes in wording, numbers, and paragraphs. It does not currently highlight visual pixel differences in images or diagrams.
Why can't I see the text?
If your PDF is a "scanned" document (essentially an image saved as a PDF), the tool may not be able to extract text. For best results, use "native" PDFs created from Word, Google Docs, or Excel.
